If there is no log then that sounds like you did not enable logging by holding down the alt/option key when starting PokerTracker 4. Please note this can happen after updating to macOS 27 (Golden Gate) on Apple Silicon Macs (M1/M2/M3 etc.). If your PostgreSQL is an older Intel build, it relies on Apple's Rosetta to run, and the macOS update appears to remove or disable Rosetta - which stops PostgreSQL from starting, so PokerTracker 4 has nothing to connect to.
If that matches your setup, reinstalling Rosetta should get you running again. You can install it by opening Terminal and running:
- Code: Select all
softwareupdate --install-rosetta
Follow the prompts, then restart PokerTracker 4.
Longer term, newer versions of PostgreSQL have native Apple Silicon builds that don't need Rosetta at all, so moving to PostgreSQL v18 should prevent this happening again on a future update.
If you're on an Intel Mac (not Apple Silicon) the cause would be something else and we'd take a look at your log file via a
Support Ticket.
