Export HHs -- insufficient memory

Postby SugarHooves » Sun Aug 16, 2009 5:32 pm

Hi,

In exporting a dbase of HHs in PTv2, of a dbase of 187k hands, the following happens:

1. According to a RAM monitor I have there is about 1.2GB of free memory to start when I hit start in Export, from the chosen dbase,

2. then, as the export begins, the memory starts counting down, eventually to '0'

3. then an "out of memory" error pops up and the whole process starts ... the process got to approx 152,000 out of the 187,000 hands exported before "out of memory"

I tried several times, with all other programs closed and same things happened. While export process was running by RAM cleanup utility was unable to work.

I only just upgraded from v2.17.03b to v.217.04g today, before I started the process ... I had not had this issue in the past but, have not done an export for about 6-9 months.

Ideas?

Thanks.

I haven't touched that code in years. You'll have to enter export criteria to export in smaller batches.

Pat,

As an experiment, where can I download a copy of PTv2.17.03b to re-install as a test that, for whatever reason, that version will allow me to have a successful "normal" export?

Thanks.
